A Bar Worth Searching For
So I’m going to be honest with you. I get lost quite easily. Even with directions you know that if I turn left I should have gone right, tell me to go upstairs and for some reason I’ll end up in the basement. Don’t ask me how; I’m as confused as you are! So when I headed to the CBD to find Settlement Bar I was a little confused when I ended up at the Westpac Building. But, after a little detective work and some forceful questioning of strangers I learnt that I had, in fact, got it right, I just had to go underneath...Duh! And wow was I glad that I did find it because I was in for a treat!
Today’s Settlement Bar deal is set to please even the harshest critics. Seated outside in the spacious outdoor marquee seating I got to enjoy an array of Asian flavours while delighting in the Sydney summer sunshine, and not to mention sip on a glass of my favourite red wine. The food is simply to die for. To be honest I have never tried spring rolls like these before! The perfect mix of crunch and soft tender centre, combine that with (my all time favourite) sweet and sour sauce and I had myself a winner. Another tasty treat on offer are the duck pancakes. Laugh at me if you will but I have actually never tried duck so I was a little curious as to what I might taste, but all I found was a deliciously fresh flavours that made me only want more.
For me this deal was a great after work treat; something to look forward to while I was stuck inside the office all day. Nothing beats good food, friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere, and let’s not forget a refreshing glass of wine (or beer if you prefer) to cap off your evening. And if you’re like me, what was meant to be a quick after work treat, may turn into a cheeky week night outing! (Let’s just say the words “DRINK SPECIALS” always win me over!)
N.B Just so you Spreeters out there don’t get worried, I found my way home after only one wrong turn, I think that’s a personal best for me!
