No pun intended…

Thai cuisine has always been a favourite of mine, not only for its delicious taste but more so for the chuckle I have upon reading the numerous pun induced restaurant names that Thai restaurants seem to enlist on. En Thai Sing, Appethaizing, The King and Thai… the list goes on. Come on guys, it’s hard not to crack a smile at one of those.

So when I headed to I-Thai to try their 7 course banquet deal I was curious to see if their lack of pun could be overlooked. Is it possible to leave this restaurant a happy, laughing customer? The answer, to put it simply is: YES!

I-Thai doesn’t need to enlist in a chucklesome title in order to gain clientele. On the contrary I-Thai’s superb mix of traditional and modern Thai cuisine, intimate and relaxed atmosphere and gorgeous harbourside views of Sydney’s famous King Street Wharf make this restaurant transcend all its pun-loving Thai restaurant competitors. It is a dining experience that is not to be missed!

If my words of encouragement don’t have you jumping out of your seat with excitement then let me tempt you with some of the dishes this banquet offers and if your mouth isn’t watering by the time you finish reading then all I can say is…I don’t believe you!

Does the Salt and Pepper Calamari tickle your fancy? It is seasoned to perfection with satisfying crunch on the outside and tender squid on the inside.

Or for the spicy lovers out there, set your taste-buds alight with The Chicken Green Curry with coconut milk, eggplant and lime leaf. Once you start you won’t stop, that is until you see the dessert…Coconut Ice-cream: pure creamy deliciousness!

So for all the pun-lovers out there, give I-Thai a try because the moment you set foot in there, somehow the pun doesn’t seem as important anymore!
