A quick history lesson… Tyrrell’s Wines proudly dates back to 1858. That’s when English immigrant Edward Tyrrell established the label in the lee of the Hunter Valley’s Brokenback Range. This land has since become recognised as home to some of the Hunter Valley’s finest vineyards.
Today, Tyrrell’s is a truly national wine company, with its premium vineyards extending from its legendary home in the Hunter to other distinguished grape-growing regions across Oz, including SA’s McLaren Vale and Victoria’s Heathcote.
Fourth-generation family member Bruce Tyrrell is at the helm of the winemaking company, which is now exported to more than 30 countries worldwide. Not a bad effort! His children - the fifth generation - are involved in the family business, meaning the winery will continue to be Australian-owned well into the future. Lovely!
And now… a little about the tipples you could be tasting… Midnight Leap Classic Dry White is described as being herbaceous and grassy, with fresh, rich, tropical fruit flavours echoed on the palate. Yum!
The Midnight Leap Chardonnay is said to amalgamate melon and stone fruit characters, while a subtle touch of oak helps to complement the truly Aussie tipple. We’ll toast to that!
